Exploring the Chines

Some chines have convenient car parks and sturdy steps; some are easy to walk down; others are hidden from view, hard to identify and even harder to access. The only thing we can guarantee is that each time you visit something will have changed. These notes are based on observations made in early 2011 but storm surges and heavy rainfall can change everything overnight. Beach access is intermittent at many points, as even the best constructed paths and steps can be lost to erosion.

While exploring the chines you may notice assorted flotsam and jetsam collects around the chine mouths. Ushered in by winds and tide these can make for interesting beach combing, but please be careful, and don’t contribute your own litter, please take it home with you.
