Eastern Yar

The Eastern Yar and its tributaries Scotchells Brook and Wroxall Stream are the largest water catchment on the Island. In places the river has been heavily modified. The Eastern Yar River Group first met in April 2014 and identified a number of opportunities that could be developed to improve its quality and how it functions, but these require a co-ordinated approach.

In December 2014 a workshop was held to further discuss these activities and to start to develop an action plan. Presentations were provided by the Environment Agency and Natural England, and Atkins and Arup – which can be viewed here:
