There are 9 river basin district liaison panels across England. They are all chaired by the Environment Agency, and meet approximately 4 times a year. They are made up of representatives of major stakeholder sectors in the river basin district. The Isle of Wight is in the South East District.
The liaison panels continue to be very important in enabling river basin management planning to:
• provide evidence to help make decisions and monitor progress
• track progress in improving and protecting the water environment
• work together to develop the RBMP
• work with others to make sure the right people are involved in making decisions
To achieve this, liaison panel members communicate with, and work through, their organisations and sector or catchment networks.
